 Southwest Skye Pipes and Drums

Southwest Skye Pipes and Drums, founded in Williams in 2007, is a 501©3 not-for-profit organization that has performed at Highland games, concerts, and public and private functions throughout Arizona and New Mexico.  In 2012 the band hosted the renowned “Pipes and Sticks on Route 66”–which included five of the top pipers and drummers in the world–and was asked to play with them on stage during the performance.

Pipe Major and founder is Michael Donelson.  Band members, ranging in age from 11 to 76, are from Ash Fork, Camp Verde, Chino Valley, Flagstaff, Prescott, Prescott Valley, Sedona, and Williams, with affiliate members in Phoenix and Tempe. The band’s goals are to encourage interest in this Scottish tradition, enhance the musical skills of its members, promote knowledge and awareness of Scottish and Celtic culture, and entertain audiences throughout the Southwest.
